( 3 Stars Michelin )  The best restaurant in the world.
We´ve been to every famous top-ranked restaurant in France  and so it sounds strange for us to recognize Christian Jürgens from Germany as our world´s  favourite chef. All his creations have an interesting target of reaching a wide spectrum of scents and tastes at the same time and they are combined in a way you can´t separate or distinguish them very well. They all seem to contain something unique and unprecedented.  Our dinning experience was simply amazing and unforgetable. It´s worth a continental travel only to eat here. And we will do this again. Haven´t heard about it? Now you do.

2 – Guy Savoy

( 3 Stars Michelin ) This guy is a true genius .His food is inventive, colorful and always delicious. We´ve been several times to Guy Savoy, joining big familly paties in Paris. The famous recipe of truffle and artichoke soup is memorable. Best restautant in Paris and worth the experience.

3 – Schwarzwaldstube

( 3 Stars Michelin )  One of the best restaurants in the world. Once with a 15 months waiting line, now a bit more accessible, this restaurant stands in the heart of the Black Forest, in Germany. Forget whatever you may know about german food. This place has incredible perfect harmonized dishes, one of the best we´ve ever had. I do recommend it.

4 – Prés de Eugenie

( 3 Stars Michelin ) Worth every kilometer of highway driving to meet the wonderfull cuisine of Michel Guérard. He is one of the inventors of the “Nouvelle Cuisine” many years ago and also the creator of the “Cuisine Minceur”. The restaurant is more or less far from every touristc hot spot and we reached it from San Sebastian in Spain. No words to explain how good this is. We definitely recommend it.

5 – L´Atelier de Joël Robuchon

( 2 Stars Michelin ) Chef Joël Robuchon makes things look easy.  Sophisticated and delicious dishes always perfect round the globe. Our prefered is the restaurant at Rue de Bac, in Paris. Consider arriving at 18:30 if you want to get a table. Just close your eyes ans ask for the long menu dégustation . This will never be a mistake. Worth many visits!

6 – Gordon Ramsay

( 3 Stars Michelin ) I regard Mr. Gordom Ramsay as the sole englishman who may figure between the world´s top Chefs. And he trully deserves it. He runs many restaurants orldwide very efficiently as well. At his main place in London he shows his best. Always great and inspiring dishes, combining ingredients and flavours from the whole planet. The starters are remarkable.We have returned here everytime we stay in London. Worth a visit!

7 – Le Meurice

( 3 Stars Michelin ) Le Meurice is a traditional meeting place for heads of state in Paris, always catching media attention. It is in fact one of the best restaurants in Paris. The menu degustation was very extensive and some of us didn´t reach the last dessert.  Dinning here is such a nice experience and we will always recommend it.

8 – L’epicure

( 3 Stars Michelin ) L ´Épicure is located inside one of the most prestigious hotels in France, Le Bristol.  Excelent food and service. We took a long menu with wine pairings that were impressive. The deserts left in our minds a memory of a true perfection.  We do recommend it.

9 – Georges Blanc

( 3 Stars Michelin )  Amazing food and atmosphere. Chef Georges Blanc is an artist and he is worth all his experience and reputation. Try the local specialty, La Volaille de Bresse. It is located in a tiny and beautiful village called Vonnas , on the way to Genève.During one of our visits there, the chef surprised us with a nice hand drawing he made at our table in a few seconds, over the menu. He is very a skillful man.

10 – L´Auberge de L´Ill  – Illhaeusern

( 3 Stars Michelin ) The best reastaurant in Alsace is also one of the best in France. This restaurant is among the top long lasting 3 stars in the world. Superb wine and food, especially the foie gras. The local Alsace influence gives a certain identity to some of the dishes.

11 – D.O.M.

(2 Stars Michelin) Chef Alex Atala is our favourite chef in all South America. He has some special wild secrets from remote parts of Brazil. including ingredients you have never even heard about. Also lots of imagination. We once had a dish seasoned with Amazon ants!  A night at D.O.M is possibly the best thing to do in São Paulo.

12 – Piazza Duomo

( 3 Stars Michelin )  Italian cuisine out of the box. Very creative, chef Enrico Crippa runs a small restaurant with fantastic surprises. We´ve been here during the Tartufo Bianco ( White Truffle ) season in November, but this is a very hard goal, as the tiny city of Alba becomes a main target for gastronomic tourists from everywhere. So if you are persistent and lucky, try the Menu Tartufo, and you will have a deep experience into the characteristic fresh white truffle profound scents and it´s subtle combinations. By the way, we will definitely come back again.

13 – Maison Troigros

(3 Stars Michelin ) Michel Troigros is the head chef of the traditional and worldwide reputated Troisgros Family. He took us for a visit tour inside his wonderful kitchen. The seasonal menu dégustation combined some classical and some nouvelle cuisine dishes. Out of the main routes, in the city of Roanne near Lyon, Maison Troisgros is worth a weekend driving from Paris.

14 – Lasarte

( 3 Stars Michelin)  Chef Berasategui is one of the famous Bascs in the gastronomy world. Fantastic dish presentations and surprising recipes. The food is colorful and delicious.Some of the “pincho” style starters were memorable One of the best restaurants in Spain.

15 – The Waterside Inn

(3 Stars Michelin)  Nice and beautiful place, along the side of River Thames, in the charming city of Bray. Try to book it for lunch time when you can better enjoy the wondefull views. The  food was superb, standing at the top of the top of all restaurants in the U.K.  Local recipes meet international cuisine in perfect harmony.Worth a trip from London. We made it in a sunny weekend an we had a great time.

16 – L´Ambroisie

(3 Stars Michelin)  L´Ambroisie is very traditional .Besides the food, this extends to the furnitures and to the surroundings , at the Place de Vosges. I tried many of the french clssics and the food was excellent, but not those ones to remember for a lifetime. But still worth a visit.

17 – L´Astrance

(3 Stars Michelin)  It was pretty hard to book this restaurant!. We tried hard for three years, before we finally got a table at l´Astrance. The service was a bit slow to, but the food was good with and very innovative. The atmosphere is interesting.  Worth the experience.

18 – Le Cinq

(3 Stars Michelin ) Le Cinq was the first Michelin three starred restaurant we´ve ever been to. It stands inside the George V hotel, which is the best hotel in Paris, in our opinion. Beautiful place , fancy atmosphere and superb food. Worth a visit.

19 – Paul Bocusse

(3 Stars Michelin ) Paul Bocuse means history.He is the world´s long lasting chef at the top, as he carries the 3 Michelin star for over 50 years now. Despite his age he was still receiving the clients at front door. Many of his past inventions now make part of french cuisine. And you can try the original ones here.  Worth a trip from Paris to Lyon.

20 – Bernard Loiseau

( 3 Stars Michelin ) In memory of Bernard Loiseau, the chef who unfortunately  killed himsef after suffering from his thoughts of loosing one of his Michelin stars. Once the Burgundy temple of gastronomy, the restaurant afterwards lost  one of the stars in fact, but only many year after the incident. The best boeuf bourguignon I´ve ever had was here. Wonderful recipes and fantastic tasty food.

21 – Arzak

(3 Stars Michelin ) In the heart of the Pais Basco, in Spain. The city of San Sebastián has 3 Michelin 3-Starred restaurants, but only 190 thousand inhabitants. The locals love eating and love the high cuisine.There were very nice and creative dish presentations that even seem to terfere in your taste perception , but the food itself standed one degree below these aesthetics. Worth a visit.

22 – Lasserre

( 2 Stars Michelin ) Lasserre is an Institution in Paris. The famous retracting ceiling makes the place one of the top romantic resturants in Europe. Dinning under the stars is a nice experience. This was the place my family used to meet evey year in October.The dishes follows the now classic french nouvele cuisune and it is made with perfection.

23 – Heston Blumenthal

( 2 Stars Michelin ) Chef Heston Blumenthal from the Fat Duck runs this restaurant in Central London. It is located inside the Luxury Mandarin Oriental Hotel with magnificent views to the Hyde Park. A light version of Fat Duck´s menu with some intersections. One of the desserts came out of an instant small ice cream machine making deserts live at our table. Nice experience.

24 – Lung King Heen

( 3 Stars Michelin ) Hong Kong´s best restaurant brings the classical Cantonese dishes and the typical serving style. The views are spectacular. Lung King Heen is one of the first restaurants in Asia to reach the 3 Michelin stars. Consider booking Lung King Heen if you are going to Hong Kong.

25 – Lucas Carton (Le Senderes)

( 2 Stars Michelin ) Once a top 3 starred Restaurant in Paris, ran by the famous Chef Alain Senderens who unfortunatelly lost his 3 Michelin one by one. He actualy died a few years ago .It was a pitty as it was one of our favourite restaurants in France.

26 – Ledoyen

( 3 Stars \michelin )  Another true institution in Paris. Ledoyen has a continued international reputation in french gastronomy. We have had the longest – and one of the best- wine pairings ever, to match some excquisite ingredients and dishes. Chef Yanick Aléno likes to combine many different cultures in a single recipe.Very  Interesting.

27 – Pierre Gagnaire

( 3 Stars Micn )  We only attended Pierre Gagnaire once. We had a big trouble with our reservation, that simply disapeared from the list. At the end the problem was reverted into a lucky event,  as we were invited to join the chef´s table inside the Kitchen, where we actualy had the dinner. That was an amazing experience !.The dishes and the wines were incredible.

28 – Le Petit Nice Passédat

( 3 Stars Michelin )  Le Petit Nice is one of a few restaurants to win three Michelin stars in the French Riviera. Chef Gérald Passédat runs this restaurant that has 100 years of existence. The dishes are delicious specially the fresh summer starters. Spectacular views between the sea and the sky makes a perfect place for lunch in a sunny day.

29 – Mirazur

( 2 Stars Michelin )  Mirazur stands in Menton,near Monaco. The chef plants some of the local mediterranean ingredients at the restaurant garden, but the home made bread is the best part.  The seazonal menu is classified as from de sea,  the garden or the earth . Interesting.

30 – Alain Ducasse London

( 3 tars michelin )  Alain Ducasse is one of the gods of international  gastronomy. The London branch has a different and more english taste approach. Many bitter flavours and local delights brought to dishes, to fit the clients desires. Not mines by the way.

31 – L´Arpège

( 3 Stars Michelin )  We had very good recommendations for L´Arpège . The day we went we received lots of attention from chef Alain Passard and it was a nice experience.”A taste of the real food” is his flag and the menu reflects this line with some simple recipes, cooked perfectly. Not my favourite kind as I do love complexity and reinventions.  But worth the visit.

32 – Alain Ducasse Paris

( 3  Stars Michelin ) I always need to say that Alain Ducasse is one of the gods of french gastronomy. Beautiful arrangements and luxury environement. At the end we have had nice wines and delicious deserts. The food itself didn´t match the great expectations everyone would normaly have.

33 – Pré Catelan

( 3 Stars Michelin )  Standing in a sunctuous building within the Bois de Boulogne, the Pré Catelan has a huge international fame. It may be regarded for many as  a touristic attraction itself, but the food didn´t match our expectation at all. Worth a visit, but only to see the building and the furnitures.
